Ed appoints Joanne Merrick as Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance
Ed, the global reinsurance, wholesale and specialty group, today announced the appointment of Joanne Merrick as Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance. She will take up her role in June and report to Andrew Wallin, Group Commercial Director.
Joanne brings over twenty years of legal experience in the insurance sector to Ed. She joins from Gen Re where she served as regional general counsel for fifteen years. In this role she was responsible for managing legal and compliance risk for Gen Re’s UK and Africa platforms, as well as providing legal support to Gen Re’s offices worldwide. Prior to this Joanne served as head of legal and company secretary at Trenwick International. She began her career as an insurance solicitor for Hogan Lovells.
